CENTRAL TEXAS RIDE GUIDE

Senior Transportation & Wheelchair-Accessible Rides

Use this guide to compare wheelchair-accessible, non-emergency medical, public paratransit, and social or nonmedical ride options in Central Texas. Always confirm the vehicle type, assistance level, total price, service area, and return-trip plan when booking. For emergencies, call 911.

ZYVRA MOBILITY

Private-pay non-emergency medical transportation based in Austin. Offers ambulatory, wheelchair, stretcher, and specialized transport. Wheelchair vehicles use ADA-compliant lifts so riders can remain in their chairs. The company recommends booking 24–48 hours ahead when possible and states that it does not bill Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance directly.

Phone: 737-271-9474 | zyvramobility.com

CAPMETRO PICKUP

On-demand shared public transit for trips that begin and end inside a designated Pickup zone. Vehicles are wheelchair accessible. Book through the Pickup app or call 512-369-6200. Zone boundaries and hours vary, so check your addresses before planning the ride.

Information: capmetro.org/pickup

CAPMETRO ACCESS

ADA complementary paratransit for people whose disabilities prevent them from using regular bus or rail service. Riders must complete the eligibility process before using Access. It is a shared-ride service operating within the eligible service area, generally within three-quarters of a mile of fixed routes.

Eligibility: 512-389-7501 | Reservations and trip help: 512-852-7272 | capmetro.org/access

ELDERWHEELS

Concierge assisted transportation for medical and leisure outings, serving riders who walk or use wheelchairs. The company advertises ramped vehicles, wheelchair securement, personalized assistance, seven-day service, and out-of-town trips by arrangement. Confirm the current hourly rate and the level of escort assistance needed.

Call or text: 512-850-6335 | elderwheels.care

JUST A GIRL FROM THE BAYOU TRANSPORTATION

Cedar Park-based non-emergency medical transportation serving Austin and surrounding areas. Its listed services include wheelchair transportation for appointments, pharmacy visits, rehabilitation, and other non-emergency needs. Confirm coverage, vehicle availability, assistance, and price when scheduling.

Phone: 512-705-0370 | justagirlfrombayoutransport.com

ATX WHEELCHAIR TRANSPORT

Transportation for riders using wheelchairs or motorized scooters. The company primarily lists Travis and Williamson Counties, including Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Cedar Park, Leander, Liberty Hill, Georgetown, and nearby areas. Call for availability and a quote.

Phone: 512-361-6067 | atxwheelchairtransport.com

UBER WAV: CHECK BEFORE RELYING ON IT

Uber’s app currently lists WAV-Austin as a wheelchair-accessible ride option, but WAV is available only when an equipped driver is online and accepts the request. It should not be treated as guaranteed transportation for a time-sensitive medical visit. Check the app in advance and keep a backup plan. A regular Uber or other ordinary rideshare may work for someone who can safely transfer and store a folding mobility device, but it is not a substitute for a ramp or lift vehicle.

SOCIAL AND NONMEDICAL RIDES

Some providers offer shopping, family visits, recreation, worship, and other nonmedical outings; others focus on medical transport. Ask whether the driver provides curb-to-curb, door-to-door, or hand-to-hand assistance and whether the driver will wait or return later. Confirm wheelchair dimensions, combined rider-and-chair weight, steps or ramps at pickup, companion seating, oxygen or other equipment, cancellation rules, and round-trip cost.

Provider information and availability can change. Confirm details directly before booking. Last reviewed October 17, 2026. Williams Senior Transition Services does not operate or guarantee these transportation services. For help planning a senior-care transition, call 737-389-2130.
